I grew up in St. Thomas, VI and lived there until I was 22 years old. Ever since I was young, I have always been active in sports. I started teaching in gym settings when I was 17. I competed in bodybuilding and weightlifting competitions in college while still continuing to teach when I was not in school. I graduated from Duquesne University with a Communication major and minor in English, Cum Laude. I was published in college for my photojournalism, poetry and journalism for Duquesne Law school, the Duquesne Duke and a compilation of Poems from amateur writers. I took a hiatus from working when I got married and became pregnant with my first son, Xavier. I then, two years later, was blessed with another son, Xander. Unfortunately, after going through a divorce, I was suffering from anxiety, panic and dizziness. I privately started taking yoga lessons at my home twice a week, then started attending yoga classes at gyms, and also at yoga studios. I found an amazing release and a sense of clarity and love when I took yoga. I decided to start teaching again, after not working for 5 years. I got certified as an Iyengar Instructor and started teaching at gyms and privately. I turned more towards holistic health and then went to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York for one year and that was another life changing experience. I learned about myself, others and about the world from many perspectives. My teachers included Dr. Weil, Marion Nestle, Dr. Chopra and many motivational speakers, journalists, film makers, naturpathic doctors, MD’s, chiropractors, exercise enthusiasts and dentists. The only thing left in my life that I was missing was more of an understanding of spirituality, the universe and healing beyond food, exercise and my career.

In 2007, I did decided to start an all organic catering company called Safe Catering and that was great for about a year and then the economy, of course was getting bad and it was hard to keep my head above the water, so I shut the company down. But, it was my first experience at owning a company and being a full time mom and for sure, I don’t think I would do it again! In the mix, I attended meditation groups on and off for years as well all over the valley and also met some amazing people such as Jeff Skorman, Debbie Z from Go with the Flow, Scott Sarber, Kaleo, Kerry Shaman and others who were accelerating me down the path of finding my true essence and a deeper understanding of the big picture. Yoga became the focal point of my career after I closed my catering business, but I knew there was more that I wanted to do! After reading an article on Reconnective yoga, I drove to LA and experienced a Reconnective healing and it changed my life spiritually since September of 2008. In October of 2008, I went to Mexico City and got certified to be a Reconnective healing practitioner and I do Reconnections (axiatonal alignment). It was the missing piece of the puzzle for me in how I was going to proceed with my life. After Mexico City I have started my journey to understand and learn as much as I can in regards to yoga, holistic health and a deeper understanding of universal consciousness. Over the last few months, I have been under the teachings of Guru Ren Rasa Yogamaya, learning the Yoga Korunta. For me, learning is the only way that I can live my life. No matter what it is that I am interested in, I want to know all there is to know, so I can teach, spread and educate in order to make a difference. The only way to learn is through teaching for me and I love it. I am very open-minded and awake now. I am meeting more like-minded and amazing people who have helped me to figure out what life is all about. It’s not about money, success, or how many things we attain in life, but it is truly about connection, unconditional love and service. I would love to be of service to you!
